Blue Yeti USB Microphone – More Details

Value For Money: The Blue Yeti Mic offers really excellent recording quality for the money. You do not require any additional equipment, everything you need is in the box. Simply plug in and play.

This is a robust desktop mic, with solid stand. Easy to adjust so you can make sure it is perfectly postitioned to pick up your sound source. And if necessary, you can fit it to a standard microphone stand for more flexibility about positioning.

Recording Quality: The large diaphragm condenser is suited to a wide range of recording purposes. It has the added bonus of multiple pickup patterns. This means you could use it to pick up one sound source quite directionally, with the cardioid pattern. Or switch to the figure-8 pattern for an interview, or two players. Or Omni mode if you want to record a group of people or ensemble. Finally you can choose to make a stereo recording if you want.

Podasting: The Blue Yeti makes an excellent podcasting microphone. Easy to use, and the voice recordings will sound professional compared to your computer’s built in microphone. The Blue Yeti is probably one of the most popular podcasting mics in the world right now.

How To Use And Install: The Blue Yeti is a condenser microphone, so it will make a very fair job of recording guitar and other acoustic instruments as well as vocals and spoken voice. Setup is very simple, as the microphone just plugs and plays.

Platform: We have tested the Blue Yeti on iPad, Mac and PC, it works well on all of them. On PC and Mac you simply connect to an existing USB port (or USB adapter). On iPad you will need a On iPad you will need a camera connection kit and then you will find it is automatically recognised.

On The Road: Probably the main downside of the Blue Yeti compared to other USB mic alternatives is it is large and heavy. This makes it a nice robust desktop mic, but not so light and portable as other options.
