The Samson Meteor Mic In More Detail

Value For Money: When Samson launched this microphone it was an intant bestseller. Firstly, it is great value for money and secondly it looks gorgeous on your desk.

Recording Music: The most useful feature is the headphone socket. This may seem like an insignificant feature, but if you try to record voiceovers without headphones you will soon discover that being able to direct-monitor is almost essential. It also means it works very well for gaming and Zoom or Skype, where you want to interact with others.

Podasting: The Samson Meteor Mic is also excellent for podcasting. It is a large diaphragm condenser mic, so the broadcast quality is very good. Your voice will be so much clearer than just using your computer or mobile devices built-in mic.

How To Use And Install: The Samson Meteor USB Mic is a large diaphragm condenser microphone, so it will make a reasonable job of recording guitar and other acoustic instruments, as well as being good for spoken voice. It is basically very simple to set up and use, as the microphone just plugs and plays.

Platform: We have tested the Meteor Mic on iPad, Mac and PC, it works well on all of them. On PC and Mac you simply connect to an existing USB port. On iPad you will need a camera connection kit and then you will find it is automatically recognised. In fact, it is the ultimate portable microphone as you just fold in the legs and slip it in your pocket or bag.

On The Road: Even if you plan to go on and set up a complete, professional home recording studio, the Meteor Mic is one of those items that you can always find a use for, especially on the road.

Noise: You can hear what the Meteor Mic sounds like in a normal office environment in the clip above. This was recorded about 12″ away from the mic. There is some background hiss. You will have to judge whether that is accepatable to you.
